They say work smart, not hard. What the heck does that mean? Come on people, the smartest way to work is hard, always work hard. Tomorrow, work harder than you have ever worked in your life. Then the next day is Friday, so never mind because we all know how hard people work on a Friday. But then on Monday, work harder than you have ever worked before.

Jokes aside, if you work for hopes of promotion, recognition or advancement, you look like a fool to all those around you. But if you love your job, dig your heels in and work as if you were doing the thing you enjoy most in the world.

Many people say that they can’t work late because their family comes first etc. A very wise man once said to me that you are only benefiting your family by putting in the hours at work, advancing your career, and becoming something more than a winging fool.

Till next time,

Simon.
